Alabama Bingo Trial Update:

MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA -  Milton McGregor lawyer, Joe Espy said it is a “great day” for the nine  defendants in the State House vote-buying trial.  All nine defendants had walked away with no conviction.

After having to review 2 months of testimonies, including recorded phone conversations, Jurors had reached deadlocked on some counts and decelerated undecided as well as not guilty on others. Bob Geddie and Quinton Ross were declared not guilty on all charges while:  Milton McGregor, Jim Preuitt, Larry Means, Tom Coker, Harri Anne Smith, Jay Walker and Ray Crosby could face a second trial on the undecided counts. As a reminder, the nine were accused of offering, receiving or soliciting bribes in order to pass a gambling bill before lawmakers, last year.

“It’s a great day. We walk out of the courthouse and we go home,” Milton McGregor attorney Joe Espy said as they are facing the sea of camera flashes and microphones, out side the courthouse. “Certainly I’m disappointed I didn’t win it 100 percent. But I’m pleased where we are,” Joe Espy said.
“They scored zero today. Not one guilty verdict – with all those counts and all those defendants,” Susan James, the lawyer of the former Country Crossing casino spokesman Jay Walker had said.

Ms. Ana Tokayer, a U.S bingo legislation expert said: “bingo bills will pass, here (U.S), and yet – as we can see, some people will go very far to stop this”. Ms. Tokayer refused to reply if she think the nine got set up by legislation opposers.

It seems that the battle on the american acceptance of bingo to be legal, both online and in casinos is getting rougher. Bingo sites (even no deposit bingo sites) and money bingo games are baned on many of the states in the USA.
